College Football Championship Tickets Will Cost You At Least $2,000
If you want to see Alabama roll to its second consecutive national football championship, don't forget your checkbook.
Tickets to Monday night's College Football Championship are starting at a whopping $2,000 on ticket resale websites like TicketIQ and Stubhub. The game will pit defending champions University of Alabama against Clemson University, whose squad is ranked third in the nation. The match-up in Tampa, Fla., features the same teams as last year's game, which took place in Glendale, Ariz.
Big-spending Roll Tide and Tigers fans who want to see the action up close can purchase sideline or end zone tickets from anywhere from about $2,700 to nearly $30,000.
Prices for tickets have been on the rise since the semifinal games were played on Dec. 31. At that point, tickets to the championship game were available for about $600, Business Insider reported.
However, while prices dropped in the days leading up to the game last year, they clipped up to about $1,000 last Friday and have spiked even further since. Monday evening's game is now the most expensive championship game in seven years, since the 2011 championship in which Auburn and Oregon played one another.
